GSE-9 (EIA Type) |

With an overall size of 10" x 12.5" with an image area measuring 9" x 12" (23 x 30.5 cm). Original standard in U.S. for setting light response characteristics of TV cameras. Use for adjusting dynamic range and for balancing R, G and B channels for correct color reproduction. Chart consists of 2 sets of 9 neutral grey patches on a uniform grey background. Reflectances range from 3% to 60% in accordance with RS-170 (Logarithmic 2 law = approx. 1/2 f/stop per step). Dead black patch (R less than 0.5%) establishes accurate black level and for use in setting flare compensation. |

GSG-11 (Gamma Compensated) |

With an overall size of 10" x 12.5" with an image area measuring 9" x 12" (23 x 30.5 cm). Similar to GSG9 and GSE charts, except that range of reflectances is 2% to 89% (5.5 f/stops), in eleven steps. Especially suited for use with extended dynamic range ("Electronic Cinematography") cameras. Equivalent to charts recommended by Japanese camera manufacturers for set-up. Includes "dead black" (R less than 0.5%) and "super white" (R=90%) center patch for flare compensation adjustment. |
